A gas analyst is now predicting a slightly steeper drop in gas prices at the pumps across the Greater Toronto on Friday. Dan McTeague, of Canadians for Affordable Energy, told CP24 on Thursday afternoon that he predicts gasoline prices will hover at around 178.9 cents per litre tomorrow. If possible, drivers should seize the opportunity to fill up Friday as McTeague expects prices to spike on Saturday, where prices will jump to 184.9 cents a litre. On Wednesday, he said the cost of gasoline is expected to fall sometime next week, when refiners switch over to the winter blend. Diesel drivers, however, are being hit hard at the pumps. McTeague says costs continue to break records, hiking up by 20 cents by Saturday. “This places the critical fuel at 256.9 a litre, a price with no historical precedent but with enormous ramifications for every supply chain and the economy as a whole,” the analyst said. At around this same time last year, diesel prices cost around 153.9 cents per litre.
