An 18-year-old from Kitchener has been arrested for a break-in at a Burlington home. Manav Kotak, 18, is charged with armed robbery, pointing a firearm and disguise with intent. On April 26, around 2:40 a.m., four people broke into a home in the Aldershot neighbourhood by smashing through a first-floor window. The Halton Regional Police Service said the residents were asleep at the time and woke up to the sound of breaking glass. “The suspects were armed with a firearm and a knife and confronted the residents in their bedrooms, making demands for valuables,” they wrote in a media release. “The residents handed over several pieces of jewelry before the suspects fled in a stolen vehicle.” Halton police said they worked with York Regional Police to identify Kotak, who was arrested on June 25. “The investigation remains ongoing, as investigators work to identify and arrest the outstanding suspects,” they wrote. Anyone with information is asked to contact Halton Regional Police at 905-825-4777, ext. 2316.
