The search for a missing senior on Gabriola Island has ended in tragedy.
The body of 74-year-old David Hepper has been found near the walking trail where he went missing earlier this week.
RCMP say a hiker came across the body Thursday afternoon.
Hepper was reported missing on Sunday when he didn’t return from his morning walk.
Police say his body was found roughly 40 metres from of the trail. Foul play is not suspected.
The BC Coroners Service is investigating to determine a cause of death.
