Vacant motel in west Edmonton goes up in flames

Crews were still putting out hotspots on Tuesday after a fire broke out at a vacant motel in west Edmonton.

Part of a vacant motel in west Edmonton was damaged by fire on Monday night.

Firefighters were called to the Royal Scot Motel and Storage Yard at 209 Street and Stony Plain Road at 10:49 p.m.

The fire was declared under control at 11:36 p.m. and out at 12:48 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
