A man is facing 18 charges for allegedly fleeing police after shooting at another driver while racing through the town of Mundare last month. Mounties said a Ford F-350 and GMC Sierra were reported racing through the town at about 7:19 p.m. on Sept. 29, with shots being fired by a person in the Ford. Multiple RCMP and police detachments were called to assist, including two canine units and the Edmonton Police Service’s Air1 helicopter. Air1 was able to find the Ford F-350 and Mounties attempted a traffic stop on the ground, RCMP said in a Friday media release, but the driver fled into a rural area. The driver was later stopped without incident, RCMP added, and no injuries to officers or members of the public were reported.
