West Edmonton Mall’s IMAX screen is one of 34 across North America that will show Dune: Part Three for the first time in mid-December. Tickets for the ‘insider’ screening, slated for Dec. 14 at 6 p.m., went on sale Tuesday morning. The latest installment in Canadian director Denis Villeneuve’s science-fiction outer-space saga was partially shot using the high-tech film format. Parts One (2021) and Two (2024) were shot entirely in the IMAX format. Summer blockbuster film The Odyssey is currently playing on the Scotiabank Theatre’s IMAX screen. The Dune series – whose ensemble cast includes Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Jason Momoa and Rebecca Ferguson – is based on author Frank Herbert’s opus of best-selling sci-fi novels.
