The end of rodeo season is upon us as the Canadian Finals Rodeo (CFR) kicks off Wednesday night. Hosted at Rogers Place, the four-day event is the finale of the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association season, bringing together athletes competing for a $1.65-million prize. The CFR is accompanied by the Cinch Canadian Country Expo which includes rodeo events and a trade show held at the Edmonton Expo Centre. “We have the youth championship finals, which is a great opportunity for the youth to compete at a higher level and give them ultimately the same experience that the older competitors are having at CFR,” said Cinch Expo operations manager Josh Hockey. “Our vision is to give them an opportunity to run under the lights and give them the opportunity.” The Cinch Expo runs until Oct. 11. Admission is free with select events ticketed. With files from CTV News Edmonton’s Noah Rishaug
