A 95-year-old man is getting back on motorcycle after decades of retirement after the community came together to give him another spin on the chopper. John Hutzcal’s riding days were behind him after he was forced to retire after losing his leg in a crash. “I used to enjoy it, but now I can’t,” he said. A community of bikes led by the Alberta Motorcycle Safety Association came together to give Hutzcal another ride. “Any time we get a chance to do something good, we definitely jump on the wagon,” said biker Adam Waters. “Let’s see what we can do for him.” The general manager of retirement home Chartwell Griesbach said they’ve been thinking about how they could get Hutzcal back on the bike. “The first day I ever met John, he told me how he used to ride bikes,” said Stephen Blackie. “For a couple years now we’ve been trying to figure out what will work and this sidecar opportunity came up, so we’re really excited for him to experience that joy.” “I was hoping I’d get to ride, and now I’ll get to ride,” said Hutzcal.
