A driver is facing charges following a multi-vehicle crash involving a BC Transit bus in Saanich late Thursday.

Police say a white Honda was heading northbound on Oak Street toward Uptown Mall when a silver Chevy ran a red light and collided with it in the intersection at Cloverdale Avenue.

That sent the Honda into a nearby BC Transit bus.

Only the driver of the Honda was injured in the crash, and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The bus driver and passengers were uninjured, and the vehicle appeared to suffer minimal damage.

The driver of the Chevy faces charges under the Motor Vehicle Act, according to police spokesman Sgt. Jereme Leslie.

Drugs, alcohol and speed have all been ruled out as factors, Leslie said.

Witnesses say it was raining at the time of the crash.
