A reptile whose remains were discovered in the Comox Valley is one of five being featured in a series of Canada Post stamps.
The Dinos of Canada series depicts beasts from Canada's geological past, including the Comox Valley Elasmosaur.
A fossil of what Canada Post describes as a vicious marine reptile with a neck nearly seven-metres-long was discovered in 1988 by a father and his 12-year-old daughter in the Comox Valley.
The post office notes the fossil, which has not yet been given a scientific name, is from a creature that roamed the area about 83-million years ago.
The animals were chosen with the help of the Canadian Museum of Nature, which assisted in the development of the 2015 series.
