The City of Victoria says it’s considering a plan to deal with the growing population of deer in the region.
Studies done by the Capital Regional District and the provincial government show deer-human conflicts are on the rise.
A staff report that’s going before council next week says limited data makes it difficult to determine the full extent of the urban deer issue in the city.
It also includes a list of steps to determine how much of a problem the deer are.
Neighbouring regions have already undertaken deer management initiatives, including a small cull in Oak Bay.
