Conservation urged as level 3 drought conditions hit Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii
The B.C. government is urging people on Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii to reduce their water usage.
Both regions are listed at level three drought conditions, which means everyone is being asked to reduce their consumption by 20 per cent or more.
That includes both regular residents and those in agriculture and industrial industries.
The Ministry of Forests says significant water shortages are expected in those areas this summer, unless there is a lot of rain by the end of this month.
