Canada Border Services Agency is reminding B.C. travellers planning to head south for the long weekend to be prepared for potentially long waits at the border.

The agency says last year more than 80,000 vehicles entered Canada at the five crossings in B.C. between Good Friday and Easter Monday.

It says Douglas port of entry typically has the longest wait times on Easter Sunday and Monday, throughout the day.

It suggests checking the CBSA website in advance for wait times at the border, looking into what purchases must be declared and having your travel documents ready to help speed up the process.
