Calgary police are looking to the public for help identifying two people accused of stealing from a 17 Avenue S.W. business and assaulting an employee. Police say the suspects entered the business, located in the 500 block of 17 Avenue S.W., just before 9:30 a.m. on May 27. They requested water but were told they’d need to pay if they wanted some. “The female became disruptive, throwing coffee cups from the counter onto the floor and taking a banana without paying,” police said in a Friday news release. “As the employee was attempting to escort the two individuals from the business, the female suspect is believed to have assaulted the employee before fleeing with the male suspect.” Both suspects are described as between 12 to 18-years-old. Because there is a chance they may be youth, their faces were blurred in photos released by police. If they are underage, their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police say the female suspect had medium-length dark hair. She was wearing an all-black tracksuit and black shoes. The male suspect was wearing an all-black tracksuit with a white stripe down the arms, a black hat and black shoes. He was carrying a longboard.
