A plane in the Kawartha Lakes took off and never came back, according to police. Police say a 73-year-old pilot named David is missing after having taken off from the Oshawa Airport on Friday morning at 8:30 and headed up north. Authorities say he typically flies in the area south of Kawartha Lakes and north of Lake Scugog. He was last seen around Balsam Lake, police say. Earlier on Saturday, the OPP appealed to the public for information, saying investigators are looking for help in finding a small plane they believe flew into the City of Kawartha Lakes but never came back. Police say the aircraft is a blue and yellow, single-seat, home-built plane and has “FOFZ” on the tail. The OPP is asking if anyone has information that would assist police in the investigation to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP or Durham Regional Police Service.
