For many across the region, Tuesday marks the first day back to school for the 2026-2027 school year. The first day of school is set to feel a bit like summer as Environment and Climate Change Canada says it will be a mainly sunny day with a daytime high of 25. Residents can expect a humidex value of 30 and a UV index of six. For most of the day, chances of precipitation remain at zero, however, chances will increase to 20 per cent in the evening hours, shortly after 7 p.m., as cloud cover rolls in. Temperatures are expected to drop to 15 degrees in the evening and remain cool during the overnight hours.
