A 19-year-old woman is fighting for her life after the vehicle she was riding in hit a hydro pole in the middle of the night. Police tell CTV News at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, officers responded to a crash involving one vehicle on Southwood Road in Gravenhurst. According to Orillia OPP, the 19-year-old woman who was the passenger, had life-threatening injuries and was airlifted by Ornge to a trauma centre in Toronto. The driver, a 20-year-old man, had non-life-threatening injuries but was sent to a local hospital. Southwood Road between Canning Road and Sparrow Lake Route D Road remains closed while crews repair the hydro pole that was struck. Police say the road is expected to be closed for several more hours. The investigation remains ongoing. Police initially told CTV News the driver was the female, but have since made the correction.
