You may want to think about alternate transportation plans this weekend as changes to the GO Train in our region continue to shake things up. Metrolinx says on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate major track upgrades, there will be no GO train service between Downsview Park GO and Union Station. Instead, the GO train will run from Allandale Waterfront in Barrie to Downsview Park GO and that will be the furthest it will go. Metrolinx recommends taking the subway Line 1 from Downsview Park GO to get to Union Station or your desired destination. The company says crews are working on key areas of the corridor along the Barrie line to expand them, which will support the addition of a second track. There are also station upgrades being completed at Maple GO, King City Go and Aurora GO stations. Metrolinx says crews can only complete the work if the schedule is modified. Regular service will resume again on Tuesday.
