The Barrie Baycats are out of playoff contention after a loss to the Hamilton Cardinals. After an 11-inning game on Saturday night, the Baycats lost game six of the Canadian Baseball League’s semi-finals. Leading up to game six, the Baycats had won games three and five. The Baycats were scoreless for the first five innings of game six before finally scoring in the sixth inning. In the eighth inning, the Baycats took a 4-3 lead, however a scoreless ninth and 10th inning would result in the game concluding 5-4 in favour of Hamilton. “As the 2026 season comes to a close, there is only one thing left to say: thank you,” the organization said via a statement. “From opening day to the final out of the playoffs, Baycats fans were there every step of the way.” “Thank you for making Athletic Kulture Stadium our home,” the organization said. The Hamilton Cardinals will now play the Welland Jackfish in the CBL finals.
