Barrie Police are asking the public for help in identifying three suspects in relation to an assault and robbery. Police say the incident happened on Sunday around 10 p.m. at Hewitt’s Creek Public School. According to police the 17-year-old driver was in the school’s parking lot when he was approached by three suspects, two of whom were masked. Police say the suspects dragged the teenager out of his vehicle and assaulted him, then took his phone and drove off with the car. The teen then ran to a nearby home and contacted authorities, police say, he was later hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle in question has since been recovered, according to Barrie Police, but the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information, such as residents of the area who may have security footage from the time of the incident, is encouraged to contact police.
