A Barrie man now has a $100,000 budget for vacation and a car, thanks to a stroke of luck. Jonathan L. says he’s been playing the lottery for over 10 years, however it was a simple add-on that would prove beneficial. Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG)’s ENCORE is a game that can be played in conjunction with any other lottery game for an additional dollar. On Sept. 5, that one dollar turned into $100,000 when Jonathan played ENCORE and matched six of the seven numbers in the ONTARIO 49 draw that evening, in the exact order. The winning ticket was purchased at convenience on Anne Street in Barrie and Jonathan was still in the store when he learned of his winnings. “I was so happy that I started dancing in the store!” Jonathan says. “I called my girlfriend and friend to share the news and they were so happy for me.” A businessman by trade, Jonathan says he plans to spend his winnings on a new car for work and he hopes to travel to the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
