The cause of a massive garage fire remains undetermined, according to Georgian Bay Fire and Emergency Services. Fire Chief Chad Dowell tells CTV News the call for the structure fire came in around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Fire crews arrived in the area of Old Mills Road near White Falls Road for a “fully involved” garage fire. Dowell says the garage on fire was separate from a house on the property and contained boats and other recreational watercrafts. It took crews nearly six hours to put out the flame, in the process, a small portion of the lot with trees was partially damaged by flames, but fire crews were able to stop the fire from spreading further. No injuries were reported and Dowell says the call came in from a neighbour who spotted the fire and called 9-1-1, as residents of the property were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire and a total amount in damages have yet to be determined.
