Traffic was slowed at a major intersection in Moncton Saturday morning. The Moncton Fire Department (MFD) and the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a tractor trailer crash at the intersection Berry Mills Road and Edinburg Drive around 7:20 a.m. MFD Platoon Chief Brad Calhoun said the driver was treated on scene for minor injuries. The RCMP sent an advisory on social media warning drivers the intersection was closed and to plan travel accordingly. Traffic on Berry Mills was running smoothly by 8:30, but the entrance to Edinburg Drive remained closed. Firefighters used absorbal to clean up a small amount of diesel fuel that spilled. “It didn’t get into any waterways or anything, it was just on the road,” said Calhoun. The platoon chief said the trailer was full of mulch and there were no hazardous materials onboard. Firefighters left the scene around 10 a.m. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
