Four months after he was released from prison for child exploitation offenses, a Saskatchewan man is now facing similar charges. The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Martensville on Sept. 17, according to a release from the Saskatoon Police Service on Friday. Electronic devices were examined at the scene and seized by investigators. Matthew Joseph Wood, 38, was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing child abuse and exploitation material, one count of making child abuse and exploitation available and one count of breaching a prohibition order. The Saskatchewan ICE Unit previously charged Wood with various child exploitation offences in January of 2024. He was incarcerated for the offences and was released in May of 2026. Wood appeared in court on Friday and is being held for his next court date on Sept. 22.
