An additional charge was laid Friday against a Saskatoon resident accused of a horrific sex assault that happened near the University of Victoria earlier this year.
Two young women reported they were sexually assaulted on Jan. 27 after a man knocked on a door at their apartment on Church Avenue.
The man then walked the women to a bank and forced them to withdraw money.
Police identified the man as 43-year-old David Hope, a Saskatoon resident.
Saanich police travelled to Saskatoon in April where they arrested Hope.
He was charged with one count of break and enter, one count of sexual assault, two counts of robbery and two counts of forcible confinement.
On Friday, media outlets reported Hope was charged with an additional count of sexual assault.
The 43-year-old has a lengthy criminal record with charges in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan dating back to 1991.
He appeared in a Victoria court on Friday.
A trial date has not yet been set.
