After a few false starts, it appears spring has finally arrived in southern Manitoba. Mainly sunny skies, fairly light winds, and daytime highs between 6 and 10 C are expected across the south on Friday. Temperatures will dip slightly below freezing overnight, but the skies will remain relatively clear heading into Saturday. Daytime highs in the low teens are on tap for Saturday under sunny, but windy conditions. Periods of rain are in the forecast Sunday for Winnipeg and most of southern Manitoba, though temperatures should stay close to double digits to wrap up the weekend. Meantime, parts of northern Manitoba will likely see periods of light snow on Friday with temperatures hovering around 0. More snow is expected on Saturday across the region, with Environment and Climate Change Canada suggesting five to 10 cm of snowfall when all is said and done.
