Windsor is stepping back in time for a weeklong celebration of its notorious past. Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island and the City of Windsor are launching Prohibition Week, running Aug. 17 - 23. The event will bring the city’s prohibition-era history to life with tours, tastings, entertainment, and special experiences — many offered for free or at discounted rates. The week will wrap up with the Riverfront Speakeasy at the Legacy Beacon on Aug. 22. Organizers say the goal is to showcase Windsor’s unique history, while giving residents and visitors a new reason to explore the city.
