A man police describe as a “known repeat offender” was arrested and charged after an alleged carjacking in Abbotsford, B.C., on Tuesday, according to authorities. Officers were called to the 2800 block of Livingstone Avenue around 10 p.m. after a woman reported her vehicle had been stolen “at knifepoint,” the Abbotsford Police Department said, in a statement. “Although understandably shaken by the incident, she was not physically injured,” the statement from police said. The vehicle was found “quickly,” and a suspect was arrested, police added. Justin Brown-Henderson, 32, has been charged with robbery, theft of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, according to the statement. “AbbyPD understands the community’s concerns regarding repeat offenders and the impact these incidents can have on public safety,” the department’s statement said. “AbbyPD officers remain committed to addressing these concerns.” Brown-Henderson remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on July 29, according to court records—which also show a range of criminal charges and convictions dating back to 2019.
