Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two young men who were recently recorded having a meltdown in a fast-food restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Video of the incident circulated on social media over the weekend, showing the young men yelling at staff and customers in the Burger Crush near Nelson and Howe streets on Friday night. “We got a gun,” shouts one man, while standing on a bench. “We are gangsters, no (expletive) around.” No weapons are drawn in the recording, and it’s unclear whether police believe either of the men might actually be gang-affiliated. CTV News has asked authorities for more information. At one point in the video, the other young man can be seen picking up a sign and throwing it towards employees who are working behind the counter. He later does the same with a point-of-sale tablet. “These two guys are about to go viral,” an onlooker says off-camera. Two other benches and a table are already overturned on the restaurant’s floor when the video recording begins. The Vancouver Police Department said both men were gone by the time officers arrived at the Burger Crush, and asked anyone with information on their identities to come forward. “We understand there is significant public interest in this incident. It is disturbing and unacceptable, not just to police, but to the staff and patrons of the restaurant,” said Insp. Erin Roulston in a statement Thursday. “Investigators are reviewing all available evidence, including CCTV footage, to determine what occurred and if criminal charges are appropriate.”
