Campers hoping to squeeze in a late-summer stay at one of Ontario’s most scenic national parks may have to make other arrangements. Cyprus Lake Campground at Bruce Peninsula National Park is now closed until Monday, Sept. 7, according to Parks Canada. The closure was put in place due to increased bear activity in the area. Parks Canada said bear activity will be reassessed to determine whether the campground can safely reopen or if the closure needs to be extended. While overnight camping has been affected, day-use areas remain open. Grotto parking has been cancelled Thursday. Officials said campers and the public will be updated once it is considered safe to reopen.
