Police are searching for two suspects following a rash of recent thefts from vehicles near Victoria. The West Shore RCMP says the thefts were reported overnight on Sept. 5 and into the early morning hours of Sept. 6 in a residential area of View Royal. A statement from the detachment Monday said investigators received “numerous reports” of thefts from parked cars on De Goutiere Place, Chilco Road and Kaleigh Lane. After canvassing the area, police determined two male suspects were responsible for the thefts. Investigators are now working to identify the perpetrators. The first suspect is described as having dark facial hair or a moustache. At the time of the thefts, he was wearing black pants, black shoes with light-coloured shoelaces and a black hooded sweater or jacket with a small white logo on the left chest, police said. The second suspect was captured on a security camera and is described as standing between 5’8” and 5’10” tall with light skin and some facial hair. Investigators say he was wearing a baseball cap and a light-coloured sweater with the word “Reebok” under a triangle logo on the front. Police said he was also carrying a dark-coloured backpack with distinct white lines around the zippers. Police are reminding drivers to lock their vehicles, remove valuables and park in well-lit areas overnight.
