Mounties investigating aggravated assault, kidnapping near Kelowna, B.C.

Mounties are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted and kidnapped in the British Columbia Interior earlier this week.

The West Kelowna RCMP says officers were alerted to the aggravated assault and kidnapping near a Chevron gas station on the evening of Aug. 25.

Investigators believe several people witnessed the incident in the 1190 block of Industrial Road, in the commercial centre of West Kelowna.

Police are now asking those witnesses to come forward.

According to the RCMP, there was an altercation between two men near the gas station between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

A man was then forced into a grey BMW vehicle, which left the area, the RCMP said in a news release Friday.
