A man in his 60s is dead after a van and a truck collided in Brampton on Friday afternoon. Peel Regional Police said the collision happened at the intersection of Queen Street East and Delta Park Boulevard, east of Airport Road, shortly before 1:30 p.m. Const. Laurie McCann said the truck was stopped and waiting to turn left onto Delta Park Boulevard when, for unknown reasons, the van struck it from behind. “We’re unsure at this time how this occurred,” McCann said. The driver of the van was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. McCann said the driver was pronounced dead shortly after. The other driver remained at the scene and was not physically injured, McCann said. The circumstances that led to the collision are unknown. Police closed the intersection for the investigation.
