Authorities are asking for witnesses to come forward after a violent robbery in Vancouver’s Marpole neighbourhood last week. The Vancouver Police Department says a woman was walking in the west lane of Granville Street near Southwest Marine Drive around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 27, when an unknown man approached her. “The man allegedly punched the woman in the face and stole her purse,” the VPD wrote in a statement Tuesday. “He fled before police arrived, and a neighborhood search was unsuccessful.” Police added her phone was found nearby and paramedics treated her on site for nose injuries. The department asked anyone who was driving in the area between 1 and 2 a.m. that morning to check their dash camera video. Witnesses can call the VPD at 604-717-3321 or Crime Stoppers.
