Prince Albert man found guilty of drug trafficking

A man on trial for drug trafficking offences in Prince Albert has been found guilty.

Tyler Bear was convicted on charges related to drug trafficking as well as possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

He had previously pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and was acquitted on two charges related to the illegal operation of a motor vehicle.

The charges stem from a series of events that took place in July 2023.

Bear had been involved in a police pursuit and was carrying a backpack that contained more than 30 individual bags of methamphetamine, along with a scale, more than $1,000 in cash, two cellphones, a loaded firearm and ammunition.

Sentencing arguments are tentatively scheduled for Feb. 13.
