Guilty plea heard in case of Prince Albert security guard stabbing

A man who was part of a group that stabbed a Prince Albert security guard has pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon.

Gilbert Robillard was charged for a stabbing that took place on 2nd Ave W on Jan. 7, 2025.

At the time, police said three suspects, two women and one man, stole the victim’s keys. Police said the victim then followed the suspects and a fight broke out.

The then 24-year-old security guard was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital following the stabbing.

Robillard pled guilty to being party to the offense of assault with a weapon.

He spent the last 371 days in custody for his role in the incident.

He has been released on a 12-month probation and is prohibited from contacting the victim.
