Those living in Regina will have a say in naming a new school being built in Harbour Landing. Regina Public Schools will be accepting naming submissions until 4 p.m. Oct. 2, 2026. “This school will be an important part of the community,” Regina Public board chairperson Adam Hicks said in a news release. “Thousands of students will walk through its doors over the years, and we think the people of Regina should have a voice in what’s written above those doors.” Regina residents can submit a proposed name through an online form at reginapublicschools.ca. Proposed names are not to include offensive language, the name of a person — living or dead or include the name “Harbour Landing.” The division will create a shortlist of potential candidates after reviewing submissions and a final recommendation will be brought to the board at its Oct. 20 meeting. The new school is meant to relieve capacity issues at the joint-use Harbour Landing and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic schools.
