One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Milestone on Friday. Milestone RCMP were called to the intersection of Highway 39 and Highway 710 around 9:50 a.m., according to a release from Saskatchewan RCMP on Saturday. RCMP say a semi and an SUV collided. The driver and sole occupant of the SUV, an 86-year-old woman from Milestone, was declared dead at the scene. RCMP say her family has been notified. The driver and only occupant of the semi was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. During the investigation, Highway 39 was closed but has since reopened. A Saskatchewan collision reconstructionist and Milestone RCMP continue to investigate. Milestone is located about 55 kilometres south of Regina and about 317 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon. According to RCMP, there have been a total of 73 fatal collisions with 88 fatalities in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction in 2026, as of Friday at 2 p.m.
