Regular service has resumed on O-Train Line 1 in Ottawa’s east end, after a stopped train disrupted service for approximately 40 minutes during the early morning commute. OC Transpo reported a stopped train at 6:26 a.m., with service only operating on the westbound platforms at St. Laurent and Cyrville stations. Regular service resumed just after 7 a.m. “All platforms at St-Laurent and Cyrville are open. Thank you for your patience,” the transit service said. Earlier this month, service was disrupted between St. Laurent and Blair stations after damage was discovered on the overhead catenary system. OC Transpo said the damage was discovered after a train stopped near Cyrville Station on Aug. 13. Service was disrupted in the east end while repairs were completed. The transit service plans to increase weekday service frequency on O-Train Line 1 starting on Monday as part of the new fall schedule. OC Transpo and the City of Ottawa are expecting an additional 65,000 trips into downtown Ottawa each week this fall.
