A man is being treated for life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 417 in Ottawa Wednesday evening. According to Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps, the collision involving a pedestrian occurred in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Parkdale Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Deschamps says the man sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Erin Cranton says officers responded to the crash but no additional information is available at this time. Highway 417 is open for traffic on Thursday. In a statement to CTV News Ottawa, OC Transpo said it was aware “of an incident involving an out-of-service bus” on Highway 417 last night. “We are supporting all emergency services who are responding to the scene and will be conducting an investigation,” Joel Lemieux, director of service delivery and rail operations, said late Wednesday evening. “Our thoughts are with all involved.”
