The National Capital Commission (NCC) says the Hog’s Back swing bridge will be closed Tuesday night for maintenance work. It will reopen Wednesday morning. The NCC says the bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes. The nearest bridge across the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal is the Heron Road Workers Memorial Bridge, north of Hog’s Back, which is accessible from Riverside Drive east of the river and Prince of Wales Drive west of the river. Drivers can also cross the Rideau River to the south via Hunt Club Road. Pedestrians and cyclists will not be affected by the closure, the NCC says, as the lockstation crossing will remain open.
