Gatineau police say a 19-year-old man in connection with child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM) and believe there could be additional victims in the Outaouais region. Police say the investigation began following a report from the National Center on Missing and Exploited Children concerning the downloading of files containing child abuse and exploitation material from an IP address located in Gatineau. One man was arrested during a search in the Hull sector on Aug. 26. Adam Bergeron, 19, is charged with possession, distribution, and access to child sexual abuse and exploitation materials. The charges have not been proven in court. Gatineau police say they suspect there could be additional victims and are seeking additional information. According to police, Bergeron is believed to be involved in youth triathlon and cycling activities in the Outaouais region and reportedly uses aliases that are variations of the name “Snaber.” Police say he is reportedly active on Discord and Snapchat.
