A new colossal inflatable attraction is taking bouncing to a whole new level, just 25 minutes west of downtown Ottawa. Crazy Bear Bounce World, located in Carp, opened in early September. It touts a 30,000-square-foot inflatable bouncy castle that general manager Pascal Lussier says holds a Guinness World Record. “This is the largest inflatable castle in the entire world, and guaranteed you’ve never seen anything like it,” he says. “It has 10-meter-high slides, obstacle courses, a little play area for the young ones, lots of places to jump, roll and tumble, and it’s just a place to have the most amazing time.” This is no backyard bouncy castle, it is a monster-sized attraction, and it’s making a big impression on visitors. “The slides are huge. It’s the biggest slides we’ve ever seen at a bouncy castle. This is the biggest bouncy castle we’ve ever seen,” says Katrina Herron, who brought her young son, Thomas, to the new attraction. “Tommy is having a great time bouncing around and I am too. He’ll sleep well tonight. It is a workout; I’m definitely going to sleep well tonight for sure.” Pascal says the response since opening has been “through the roof.” “People are really surprised that this actually exists,” he says. “And there’s surprises for adults. It’s not just a castle, we have got a roller coaster where the parents pedal the kids up to the top, we have an inflatable shoe tent which is pretty cool, we got tons of shaded areas for you to hang out and have a picnic. We have a catering area that serves slushies and freebies and all kinds of different things, too.” Access to the grounds is free, while tickets to the inflatable castle start at around $20 for a three-hour session. Organizers recommend booking online. Birthday party packages are also available. The park is expected to remain open until the end of October, weather permitting.
