Gatineau police say the drivers of two vehicles are dead and a passenger was injured following a head-on crash overnight. Police were called to boulevard des Allumettières between chemin Vanier and boulevard des Grives just after 12 a.m. Friday on reports of a serious collision. Three people were taken to the hospital. Two were pronounced dead and a third person, the passenger of one of the vehicles, remains in critical condition, police said. Gatineau police say the names of the victims are not being released out of respect for the families involved. “The causes and circumstances leading to this collision are still under investigation. Investigators and forensic identification technicians are conducting the necessary analyses,” a news release said. Police said boulevard des Allumettières is closed in both directions between Vanier and Grives for the investigation. Chemin Vanier is closed between Allumettières and rue de Seto.
