1 dead, 1 injured following shooting in Cornwall, Ont.

Police in Cornwall, Ont. say one person is dead and another person is in hospital after a reported shooting in the city’s east end on Wednesday.

Officers were called to a home on Montreal Road east of St. Felix Street just after 1 p.m. Wednesday, where an individual with life-threatening gunshot wounds was found.

The person was transported to hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

A second person was found dead inside the home with what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Neither individual was publicly identified. Police said the criminal investigation division is leading the investigation and no other information was released.
