Unsettled weather Thursday sees clouds, rain, sunshine, and the chance for frost overnight

CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison warns of unsettled conditions Thursday and Friday.

Cool and unsettled conditions across the region Thursday, but you can expect some breaks of sunshine.

“The reason we have the chance for showers in the forecast is there’s some cool air in the upper atmosphere and that is bringing the chance for showers at the surface,” explained CTV London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “So, as we see the sunshine in the daytime, heating creates instability and a little bit of light rainfall out there.”

The temperature should reach double digits by the afternoon with a forecast high of 11 degrees.

As we head into Friday, expect similar conditions.

“It’ll be the overnight lows that’ll have everyone talking about the potential for some freezing conditions as we head into your Friday and Saturday mornings,” warned Atchison.

The low Thursday night into Friday is minus 3, feeling like minus 5, and there is a chance for frost.

Friday: A mix of sun and cloud. 40 per cent chance of showers late in the morning and in the afternoon. Wind becoming northwest 20 km/h in the afternoon. High 12. UV index 6 or high.

Saturday: Sunny. High 8.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of showers. High 16.

Monday: Cloudy with 60 per cent chance of showers. High 14.

Tuesday: Cloudy. High 15.
