Two people are facing stunt driving charges after separate traffic stops on Highway 63 near Redbridge. The first incident took place July 23 at 11 a.m. while the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting radar enforcement on Highway 63 northeast of Redbridge. “A vehicle was observed travelling at 137 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone,” police said in a news release July 28. “As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old resident of Astorville was charged with stunt driving.” The same day at 3 p.m. on Highway 63, a second vehicle was observed travelling at 135 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. A 56-year-old from Kipawa, Que., was also charged with stunt driving. “In both incidents, the drivers received an immediate 30-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicles were impounded for 14 days,” police said. “Both drivers were also issued a summons and are required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Offences Court at a future date.”
