A woman has died after being struck by a CTrain near the Shaganappi Point LRT Station. Emergency crews were called to the area along Bow Trail S.W. shortly after 4 p.m. Monday. Calgary police say the train was approaching the station from the east when the woman entered the tracks. Despite the operator sounding the horn and applying the emergency brakes, the train struck her. Paramedics took the woman to hospital, where she later died. Police say speed is not believed to be a factor, and investigators are looking into whether pedestrian impairment played a role.
