Monday was a devastating day for some residents in Alban after two homes were destroyed in a late afternoon fire. French River fire crews were called to a home on Delamere Road around 4:30 p.m. Fire officials said the flames spread from the first home to a second property nearby. There were no injuries or fatalities and the Canadian Red Cross is working to help the residents who have been displaced. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause. Volunteer firefighters remained on scene for much of the evening, monitoring hot spots.
