Two years after her disappearance, the province and M’Chigeeng council are offering a combined $115,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for Juanita Migwans’ disappearance. She was last seen walking on Riverside Drive in M’Chigeeng on Oct. 4, 2024, police said in a news release Sunday. “Two years after Juanita Migwans (disappeared), the Ontario Provincial Police and the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Anishnaabe Police continue to seek answers with a renewed appeal for information,” police said. Migwans was reported missing Oct. 7, 2024. She is an Indigenous woman, 5-foot-6, 110 pounds, with a slim build, brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a light-coloured jacket and dark coloured pants. Migwans is known to have ties to the Village of Lion’s Head. “We will continue to work alongside our policing partners, community leaders and families to seek answers, demand accountability and support healing,” said UCCM Police Chief James Kileen. “We are confident someone knows something that can help move the investigation forward,” said OPP Det. Insp. Jason Winser. Police are urging anyone with information about her disappearance to come forward.
